STATE MEET PREVIEW;
This will be an exciting meet and the outcome will not be decided untill the end. This is in stark contrast to last year's meet where the outcome was apparent half way through the meet and the final marging of victory was over 200 points. The 2008 Mustangs will need to rely on depth and balance if they are to be victorious.
The Wild Card Team (Roseville) is expected to play a role in determining the final outcome. Other teams to watch include Forest Lake, Brainerd, Anoka and Eden Praire.
Eden Prairie has great depth and returns many members from last years runner-up team. Similar to Mounds View, they feature depth and balance. Brainerd won the Hamline relays earlier this season. Anoka knocked off a talented Andover Team in Section 4AAA. Forest Lake came on strong and defeated Blaine and Stillwater in Section 5AAA.

SECTION 6AAA MEET:
Mounds View successsfully defended the Section 6AAA True Team title. The meet was very entertaing for the fans as Roseville proved to be a very formadable foe. The Raiders led by 35 points after four running events. The 1600 meters was the turning point in the meet. From that point on the balanced and deep Mustangs gradually ovetook Roseville and went on to win by 78 points.
Entering the 2008 season there where lots of open positions. Athletes representing 75% of the point production from the 2007 State meet graduated, however this did not mean that 75% of the team graduated. Role players from last years team are being counted on this year to earn points.
Even though the Section victory was the first outdoor victory for the 2008 team, the Mustangs are ranked No. 1 in the coach's poll. The Mustangs will face Roseville again as they are the Wild Card entrant in the True Team State Meet.

MVTF.com needs YOU
Any help at all!
February 12, 2006 MoundsViewTrack.com was created in 2006 to showcase the current season and to help alumni keep connected with the team. In order for this site to fulfill its intention, I am going to need help. As I grow older and move further and further away, it is harder for me to know what is happening. Whether you have a meet result, a random piece of news, pictures to share, a mistake on the site, whatever, please do not hesitate to tell me. The only way you can reach me until April is by e-mail, which is cjmxv3@mizzou.edu.
There is also a lot of permanent work that needs to be done on this site as well (as you can tell). If anybody has experience in graphic design of any sort, I could use your help on the 'Stewart Track' and 'Hall of Fame' pages, among others. The 'Seasons in Review' page is also lacking content, so if you have any old pictures or information or if you would like want to write an journal about your season, please feel free to contact me. The more content on these pages the better!
